The Manitowoc County Fair kicks off next week, with dates running from Wednesday, August 21 to Sunday, August 25. There are quite a few new and exciting things to look out for this year including a new entrance right off of Rapids Road that will provide convenient access to the fair. Manitowoc County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer says, “The entrance off of County R, I think, will be popular. It’s very convenient and you can get to the grandstand, the facilities, the merchants building, all very easily with that entrance. I think it’s going to be a great addition to the fair.”
The parking may look a little different this year, but Ziegelbauer says, “The number of spaces is equal to the number of spaces last year, just in a different arrangement. We have plenty of parking spaces close to the fair. There is also overflow parking a block east on Expo Drive and we have a shuttle if you park there.”
Opening day begins on Wednesday with General admission gates opening at 8 a.m.
9 am – Exhibition Building Opens
10 am – Merchants Building Opens
12:30 pm – AG Adventureland Tent Opens
1 pm to 5 pm – Carnival Rides Open
5 pm to 6 pm – Carnival Rides Closed
6 pm to 10 pm – Carnival Rides Open
3 pm – Clipper City Railroad Open
6 pm to 10 pm – Blind Ambition at the Rock Pavilion
7 pm to 11 pm – Vic Ferrari at the Variety Pavilion
9:30 pm – Fireworks Grandstand
Entertainment & Vendor Sub-Committee Chairperson, Rob Voss talks about musical acts returning to the fair this year, “This year, Vic Ferarri is back for opening night. Last year there were some scheduling conflicts and a lot of people had asked “Why isn’t Vic here?”, well he’s back!” Polka music is also back at the Manitowoc County Fair in the Polka Pavillion Wednesday through Sunday.
The Manitowoc County Fair Season Pass is $30 for the entire week. Senior Citizens 60 and older, as well as Veterans, can get into the fair for just $6. Discounted entry into the fair as well as the season pass does not include rides. $10 general admission includes everything the fair has to offer as well as unlimited carnival rides.
