A 26-year-old Two Rivers woman facing several felony charges including physical abuse of a child appeared for a preliminary hearing this afternoon in Manitowoc County Circuit Court. Christina M. Macias-Martinez is also charged with human trafficking and solicitation of prostitutes with probable cause found that she committed a felony.
Law enforcement investigated suspected child neglect involving the defendant. It was then determined that Macias-Martinez would arrange sexual encounters with men she communicated with on social media. Witness interviews in the criminal complaint stated that she would talk about having sex for money, hit her two children and leave them so she could participate in daily drinking, prostitution and drug abuse.
Macias-Martinez faces up to 37 years in prison if convicted on all charges. She remains in the County Jail on $27,500 cash bail with her arraignment hearing scheduled for September 3rd.
