Art lovers can brush up on the latest trends while exploring one of the state’s longest-running arts and crafts fairs this August at Wade House, a Wisconsin Historical Society historic site.
Wade House will host its annual Arts & Crafts Fair from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 25. Over 75 of Wisconsin’s best artisans and craftspeople will display and sell their work as the fair celebrates its 59th year.
“We are thrilled to host one of the oldest arts and crafts fairs in the state for another year here at the Wade House,” said Alli Karrels, Wade House site director. “From a wide range of arts and crafts to stagecoach rides, there really is something for everyone at this event.”
Exhibitors will employ a variety of artistic mediums including creative metal art, painting, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, printmaking, jewelry, fiber art, glass, wood, leather, and photography. Brats, burgers, gourmet fries, and lemonade shakeups will be available for purchase.
Special event admission is $6.00. Wisconsin Historical Society Members save 10% and children under 13 are admitted for free. Admission includes a horse-drawn vehicle ride to the Wade House Visitor Center and Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum, a tour of the site, and entrance into the Arts & Crafts Fair. Rides on a reproduction stagecoach will also be offered for an additional fee. Proceeds from this event help support the educational, historic programming at the site.
