The agriculture educator for U-W Extension says the corn crop in Calumet County is doing better than much of northeastern Wisconsin, but that’s not good. Amber O’Brien predicts up to 50 percent of the crop will be lost due to excess moisture when the growing season started last spring. The corn crop’s growth is running about one month behind the norm. In many cases, this year’s crop will only be good for the farmers to use to feed their livestock.
