An incident at a meatpacking facility in Bellevue is being blamed on an overheating compressor. According to Bellevue Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Joe Bertler, the call came in reporting heavy smoke in the Carnivore Meat Company yesterday evening at around 6:45 PM. Crews rushed to the location in the 2800 block of Ontario Road, to find the production area completely engulfed in smoke. The building was vented to disperse the carbon monoxide and smoke, with production coming to a halt for about an hour. No injuries were reported, but the smoke did cause around $6,000 in damage.
