The rules are the rules and Packers coach Matt LaFleur doesn’t want any tackling in his team’s practices. That’s why LaFleur kicked safety Josh Jones out Wednesday. Jones had tossed a teammate to the ground. LaFleur worries about injuries while he’s preparing his team for the regular season — especially when the guy tackled wasn’t expecting it. Jones will be back on the field today (Thursday).
Former Packers defensive lineman Mike Daniels says he’s “happy” he was cut by Green Bay. Daniels signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions last week. Talking about defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, Daniels told reporters he thanks God that he got a chance to work with “a defensive genius.” Daniels had 29 sacks in seven seasons with the Packers and he is known for being a strong interior pass rusher.
