HUD Secretary Brings “Foster Youth To Independence” Program To Milwaukee

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson says one-fourth of the thousands of young adults who age out of foster care each year become homeless within four years.  Carson visited Milwaukee last week to introduce the Foster Youth to Independence program.  It provides vouchers for young adults who have recently left the foster care program.  Starting Friday, qualified young adults can sign up for a voucher.
