It has almost been a full week since the massive storm ripped through eastern Wisconsin, and there are still roughly 8,000 utility customers without power. Wisconsin Public Service is reporting that Oconto and Langlade Counties the worst off, with 5,000 customers still in the dark, while 1,000 customers in the Stevens Point/Plover/Waupaca area, and 1,000 near Rhinelander are waiting for service to be restored. The other 1,000 customers are in the Polk, Burnett, and Barron County area, and are serviced by Dairyland Electric Cooperative. To make things worse, the National Weather Service is forecasting possible severe weather in northwestern Wisconsin, which could cause more outages.
