Despite the high profile story last week regarding the woman who left her dog in her car outside Lambeau Field, people are still leaving their furry friends in their vehicle, according to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. The canine in the previous incident died but thankfully people were able to respond in time in a few other incidents in Howard and Bellevue. There were a total of 32 dog in vehicle calls made to authorities in the Green Bay area over the past two weeks, with five owners receiving citations. As a reminder, Wisconsin does have a Good Samaritan Law, which means if you see an animal or child locked in a hot car, you are allowed to break the window to cool them down, but you must call 911 first, check, the doors, and attempt to find the owner first.
