On Tuesday, July 16th at approximately 6:38 PM deputies and EMS personnel responded to a rollover crash on CTH B south of STH 310 within the township of Manitowoc.
A preliminary investigation indicated that 19-year-old Colton Gulseth from Two Rivers was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on CTH B. While attempting a passing maneuver, he lost control, proceeded over the concrete curbing on the west side of the roadway and collided with a phone box. The vehicle continued southbound towards a driveway within the 4100 block of CTH B where the vehicle then collided with a parked 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer and then overturned on top of a 2001 Honda CRV which was also parked in the driveway. The momentum caused the vehicles to also collide with a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle and flying debris damaged a 2013 Ford Escape. In addition, the Honda CRV was pushed into the overhead garage door causing damage to that as well.
There was a 16-year-old female passenger from Two Rivers and two 19-year-old passengers from Milwaukee. All individuals involved were transported to Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers for injuries they sustained from the crash. The 16-year-old female was later transferred to Aurora BayCare Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Two occupants were not wearing seatbelts.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office has reported that the crash is still under investigation and no additional information is being released at this time.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Office on the scene were: Rockwood Fire Department, Francis Creek Fire Department, Manitowoc Fire and Rescue, PJ’s Automotive, and Custer Street Towing.
The Sheriff’s Office along with the Manitowoc County Traffic Safety Commission reminds all motorists to drive at reasonable speeds, avoid distracted driving, and verify all occupants are wearing seatbelts.
