A 41-year-old Green Bay man has died due to accidental drowning in the Menomonee River. The Menomonee County Sheriff’s Office report that they were sent to the Sturgeon Bend Camp Ground in Fairthorn Township, northeast of Green Bay, at around 11:15 AM on Sunday. It was determined that Green Bay resident Bryan Bidwell was attempting to load his fishing boat onto a trailer when the vessel broke loose and was taken away by the current. Bidwell’s attempt to swim the boat back to shore was unsuccessful, and he went underwater after calling out for help. Bidwell’s body was found at around 1:00 PM, 75 yards downstream from the boat launch.
