A Major League-leading 32nd home run for Christian Yelich wasn’t nearly enough as the Milwaukee Brewers lost Sunday to the San Francisco Giants 8-3 at Miller Park. Giants starter Tyler Beede held the Brewers to three runs on seven hits in six and two-thirds innings. He struck out seven and didn’t issue a walk. The game turned on a six run seventh inning when Milwaukee’s Corbin Burnes gave up four hits and four runs without retiring a batter.
The Crew are back in action tonight at Miller Park when the Atlanta Braves come into town. First pitch will be at 7:10 PM, with Adrian Houser on the mound for the Brewers against Atlanta’s Max Fried. Pregame coverage on 1240 AM WOMT begins at 6:35 PM.
This weekend the Brewers also signed former Texas Rangers right-hander Shelby Miller to a minor league deal. The 28-year-old was 1-and-3 with an 8.59 E-R-A in 19 games this season with the Rangers. In his eight year career Miller has won 38 games and has a career E-R-A of 4.11 with stops in St. Louis, Atlanta, Arizona and Texas.
