A suspended Milwaukee firefighter showed up at the courthouse Thursday for a pre-trial hearing — only to be told his sexual assault case was being dismissed. Michael Peden was accused by a fellow firefighter of making racist and sexist comments and groping her inside the firehouse where they worked. Peden’s attorney says the case took a turn in his direction when the defense finally got access to the state’s witness list and started interviewing people. Peden has been on paid leave since the charges were filed two years ago.
