Pirates rookie Bryan Reynolds pounded a three-run homer off Junior Guerra in the seventh inning, leading his team to a 6-5 win over Milwaukee Sunday. Pittsburgh took the last series before the All-Star game two-games-to-one. Jesus Aguilar had a pair of homers and three runs batted in for the Brewers as they stumbled into the break with five losses in their last six games.
Milwaukee outfielder Christian Yelich missed the game with a back injury, saying it will keep him out of the All-Star Home Run Derby today (Monday). He does plan to play Tuesday.
The Brewers have also promoted 24-year-old shortstop prospect, Mauricio Dubon. He made his major league debut Sunday in the 6-5 loss to Pittsburgh. Dubon was brought up after Orlando Arcia and Keston Hiura ran into each during Saturday’s action. Arcia isn’t going on the injured list, so the Brewers sent pitcher Burch Smith to the minors. Dubon was hitting .307 with 14 home runs, 42 runs batted in and nine stolen bases at Triple-A San Antonio.
