The actions of couple are being praised by the Kaukauna Police Department following a house fire. The blaze was called in to authorities at around 1:00 yesterday afternoon. Crews were then sent to the 1300 block of Sullivan Ave. A neighbor actually saw smoke coming from the garage of the home, and began to battle the fire wife water from a 55 gallon rain barrel, while his wife entered the home, and helped the family of six all evacuate. Sgt. Krueger of the Kaukauna Police Department said in a Facebook post that “If it were not for these actions more property damage or even loss of life could have occurred. Damage appears to be minor at this time.” The cause of the fire is still under investigation at last word.
