The Manitowoc Police Department is looking for the public’s assistance in trying to locate the owner of a dog that bit someone recently at the city’s Dog Park near the north pier lighthouse. Lieutenant Robert Arps said the victim told officers that he was with his girlfriend and their dog last Wednesday at approximately 5 pm when his dog began to play with a black and tan German Shepherd. When the victim attempted to separate the animals he was bitten on the hand by the other dog. The German Shepherd’s owner was described as a white male, about 5-feet-8-inches tall with a medium build, blonde hair and wearing a black shirt. Lt. Arps said they’d like the owner to come forward so authorities can obtain proper documentation for the dog. The victim reported that he and his girlfriend have seen the same male and his German Shepherd dog previously at the dog park. Anyone with information is asked to call the MPD at 686-6551.
