A former Florida man faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison after being convicted by a Waukesha County jury Wednesday. Seventy-nine-year-old John Bayerl had been accused of killing his wife, Dona Mae, 40 years ago. Her body was never found and she was declared legally dead in 1986. Damaging testimony was offered by two of his former wives who told the court Bayerl had been an abusive husband.
