UW Grad Found Guilty Of Killing Chinese Student In Illinois

A former student at the University of Wisconsin could face the death penalty after his murder conviction in Peoria.  Brendt Christensen was found guilty Monday of kidnapping and killing a Chinese scholar in 2017.  It took the jury less than 90 minutes to issue its verdict on the death of Yingying Zhang.  In opening statements, the defense conceded that Christensen killed the victim, but said he suffered mental health and alcohol problems.  He has never said where her body is.
