In semi-pro football Saturday night: the Manitowoc County Mariners evened their record at 1-1, with a 16-13 victory over the Southern Lakes Blue Devils…in Salem, Wisconsin. Quarterback Marcos Alfaro Junior completed 14-26 passes for 189 yards and 2-touchdowns while Tyrell Bullock carried the football 11 times for 57 yards. Defensively, the Mariners were again led by Richard Zachow who had 2 sacks & 4.5 tackles. Jordan Endries delivered the game winning points on a 36-yard field goal. The Mariners are off for the next two weeks before playing their Home Opener on Saturday, July 13th against the Wisconsin Hitmen of Milwaukee. Kickoff time for the Mid-States Football League contest at Ron Rubick Municipal Field will be 4:00 o’clock.
