The Manitowoc Bandits baseball team and Manitowoc County Mariners football club are both in action later today. The Bandits host a ‘Military Appreciation Day at Municipal Field late this evening when they play the Pulaski Reds at 5:00 o’clock, with a second game against the Casco A’s scheduled for 6:30. There is free admission for veterans and military personnel who will also receive a free brat or hot dog and a drink in a promotion sponsored by Novak’s Service Center. Fans are encouraged to bring along care-package items to be shipped to U.S. Troops deployed overseas. Activities will start at 4:00..prior to game-1..and there is a ‘Special Military Tribute’ at about 6:15, between games. In semi-pro football…the Manitowoc County Mariners try to bounce-back from a 2-point loss in their Mid States Football League opener..when they travel to play the Southern Lakes Blue Devils. Kickoff time is 7:00 o’clock at Westosha Central High School.
