Plover Mother Reaches Plea Deal Child Neglect Case

Surveillance video shows a mother from Plover tampering with her 10-month-old baby’s feeding tube.  Twenty-five-year-old Holly Fields has reached a plea deal with Wood County prosecutors on charges of chronic neglect of a child and physical abuse of a child.  Investigators call it a case of Munchausen by proxy — where a caregiver will fake symptoms to make it look like the victim is sick.  Fields is scheduled for sentencing in August.  When the 10-month-old child was removed from her care, its health began to improve quickly.
