The Wisconsin Safety Council, the state’s leading provider of safety training and products, is celebrating Week 3 of Safety Month this week, and are highlighting the hazard of fatigue. Fatigue is more common than one may think with 97% of workers have at least one risk factor for fatigue. The Council issued several tips to avoid feeling fatigued while on the job. These include the obvious like ensuring your get at least 7 hours of sleep a night, avoiding alcohol, ad only drinking caffeine in the morning, but they also point out that it’s important to not accept fatigue as a normal part of our life, and to talk to a supervisor or HR representative if you are too tired to work safely.
