Those who smoke marijuana probably perked their ears up when they heard about a new hemp plant coming to Sheboygan Falls, but it’s not a new strain of the drug, but rather a hemp processing facility that will be operating out of the Sheboygan County town. Founder and CEO of Midwest Cannabinoid Extraction says that there was an opportunity in the area, and wanted to take advantage. The plant will be extracting hemp oil from industrially produced hemp, which is a strain of the plant species that is typically grown for products like clothing, construction material, and organic body care products. Cooper says that he hopes to employ somewhere in the ballpark of 5-13 people. The facility will be built just off of County Road C and is expected to open this October.
