Race car engines will not be providing the only roars at Road America in Elkhart Lake on Sunday, June 23rd. A squadron of four military jet trainers will perform a military flyover during the National Anthem that day for the pre-race ceremonies for the NTT IndyCar Series race.
Road America president and general manager Mike Kertscher announced today that the T-38 trainer jets will be piloted by the US Airforce 25th flying training squadron from Vance Airforce Base in Enid, Oklahoma. The flyover will be a tribute to America’s first responders as well as honoring the country.
The weekend series will be headlined by the IndyCar series, but will also feature the Road to Indy series including doubleheader rounds for Indy Lights, Indy Pro 2000, and USF2000.
