The Mishicot Girls Softball team came up just short in their quest for a state title over the weekend. Following a 5-1 win over Pacelli Thursday evening, the Indians faced off against the top-seeded, and defending champion Horicon. The Marshladies jumped out to an early lead, scoring 3 runs in the first two innings, and exploded for another 8 in the 3rd, and were leading 13-0 after 4 innings. The Indians showed why they went into the matchup undefeated, as they put up 4 runs in the 5th. They also had a big chance to mount a dramatic comeback in the 7th as they had loaded the based, but could not pull the trigger. Mishicot ends the season with a mark of 25-1 and brought home a big silver ball for trophy case at Mishicot High School.
