The Mishicot Indians Girls Softball team will meet the Marsh Ladies of Horicon for the WIAA Division Four State Championship at approximately 10:30 this morning at Goodman Diamond in Madison. Mishicot defeated Pacelli of Stevens Point 5 to 1 in one semi-final Thursday night while Horicon-the defending champions- defeated Thorp yesterday 7 to 3. Mishicot is 25 and 0 and features great balance of offense-defense and pitching. Senior left hander Megan Junk has not lost in 18 decisions this season and threw her 17th complete game of the season against Pacelli. Center fielder Kourtney Leroy leads the Indians in RBI’S with 45 that hits over.400 as a team. They also turned two key double plays in the victory over Pacelli that negated mid-inning rallies. The Marsh Ladies of Horicon are 24 and 1 with their only loss coming at the hands of Slinger late in the season. They otherwise have dominated their competition led by pitcher Allison Tiilema. The talented junior is 22 and 1 with an ERA of just over 1 run per game. In 104 innings of work she’s walked only 31 while striking out 176. She’s backed by an explosive offense that hitting just under .500 as a team. In fact-two Marsh Ladies are hitting over .600 including Tillema and junior shortstop Jadin Justman who’s batting nearly .680 on the season.
