The Wisconsin Joint Finance Committee has approved the Senator Devin LeMahieu penned proposal to invest $155 million into local roads. The Oostburg resident stated in a news release that “This is a historic investment in improving our local infrastructure. This is good news for any driver that uses town, village, city, or county roads.” The proposal called for $66 million to go toward general transportation aids, and $90 million in one-time funding for local road repair and replacement. LeMahieu noted that this investment would also help pay for the Highway 23 expansion project, and will help keep it on track.
