The Milwaukee Brewers salvaged the final game of a three-game set against the Marlins with a 5-1 victory Thursday afternoon. Mike Moustakas pounded a pair of home runs while Freddy Peralta and two relievers stopped Miami on five hits. Coupled with a Cubs loss, the Brewers are even with Chicago in the standings and just a percentage point behind. Christian Yelich contributed his major league-leading 23rd home run with a man on in the first and the Brewers led the rest of the way. Brandon Woodruff looks for his eighth win in tonight’s (Friday’s) game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
