Reedsville Schools went on a “soft lockdown” this morning as law enforcement were attempting to apprehend an individual with an active warrant for his arrest. Police Chief Jo Ann Mignon says just before 9:30 officers were attempting to take the subject into custody, he resisted and fled on foot. Due to the proximity to schools, Reedsville Police felt it was prudent and necessary to place schools into a “soft lockdown” for precautionary measures until the situation was safely resolved. The suspect was eventually located and taken into custody then taken to the Manitowoc County Jail. No one was hurt. Reedsville Police will be forwarding charges to the District Attorney’s Office and no further information will be released at this time. Assisting on the scene were personnel from the Manitowoc County Sheriff and Brillion Police Departments.
