Roncalli is at the top of the team leaderboard after the first round of the 36-hole WIAA State Boys Golf Championships in Madison. The Jets’ of Coach John Haug shot a 330 score in Division-3, & hold a 5 stroke lead over Abundant Life/Madison Country. Sheboygan Area Lutheran is 3rd at 342 following day 1 of the tourney at University Ridge Golf Course. Individually, Ian Behringer is in a 3-way tie for 2nd with a 4-over par 76. The Jets’ Luke Pautz and Howards Grove’s Ryan Splittgerber are tied for 11th after shooting an 82. Drake Wilcox of Sheboygan Lutheran is atop the player leaderboard with a 2-under 70. Roncalli’s 5-linksmen started in separate groups this morning on the 10th hole, between 8:12 and 8:48. In Division-1 Marquette University High School carded a 296 for a 7-stroke lead over Middleton while Edgewood Sacred Heart tops the D-2’ standings with a 305, 1-shot better than Lakeland Union.
