A Brillion family will be welcoming residents of Manitowoc County to the 30th Annual Breakfast on the Farm on Sunday. The Haelfrisch Farm is owned by Tom and Chris Haelfrisch, who purchased the farm and the 117 acres attached in 1985. They grew the operation from a modest 30 cow herd to 165 cows that are milked twice a day. They have since bought an additional 33 acres of land and are renting 150 more acres as well. They are assisted on the farm by their son TJ, who has been a co-owner since 2001.
The Haelfrischs hold themselves to a very high standard, which has not gone unnoticed. The family has been awarded the Quality Achievement Award for the past 10 years in a row and has also received the State Outstanding Milk Quality and Farm Conditions Awards as well.
The Breakfast will begin at 8:00 AM at the farm located on Highway 10 in Brillion. Parking will be located at 6523 Oakwood Road. The meal will include a ham and cheese omelet, sausage, a variety of cheeses, cinnamon bread and butter, and ice cream sundaes for dessert. There will also be a variety of activities, including guided farm tours and children’s activities. The Dairy Princess and Miss Farm Bureau will both be crowned at 9:30 AM. Music will be provided by the Jerry Krueger Band. Food will be served until noon, and adults will be charged $7, children aged 5-10 years old will cost $4 and children 4 and under will be free.
The Manitowoc County Breakfast on the Farm is sponsored by the Manitowoc County Dairy Promotion Committee, the Manitowoc County Farm Bureau, and the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin.
