The selection of a Plymouth youth as a member of the iconic “Kids From Wisconsin” was announced by Taras Nahirniak, Producer and Orchestrator of the states beloved performance troupe. Alex Turicik of Plymouth was chosen from approximately 300 of Wisconsin’s most talented musicians ages 15-20 at auditions held statewide this past February. Alex is celebrating his 4th year as a hometown KID.
Alex is not new to Kids From Wisconsin. This will be his fourth season touring with the group as its principle guitar player. Alex is a part of many groups in the area, such as Plymouth High School Jazz 1 Ensemble and Pit Band, Momentum Show Choir, UW-Sheboygan Jazz Band, Lakeland University Pit Band, and many more. He also shares the stage with his dad and family in The FlamingOs Band. Alex thanks you for attending the Plymouth show this June 21st and hopes you enjoy “The Beat Goes On!” The troupe members will report to a training camp to learn the two-hour Broadway style production starting May 17th. A staff of professional musicians, choreographers and choral instructors will provide 15 days of group and individual coaching. This year’s production of the KIDS From Wisconsin “Plymouth Show” will be presented Friday, June 21, 2019 at 7:00pm at the Howards Grove Center for the Arts (due to the ongoing construction project at the Plymouth High School.) The Howards Grove Center for the Arts is located in the Howards Grove High School, 401 Audubon Rd., Howards Grove, WI. Tickets are available at the Plymouth Arts Center Box Office, 520 East Mill St., Downtown Plymouth, Tues-Fri. 10am to 4pm, OR online: www.plymoutharts.org, call (920) 892-8409. Reserved tickets in advance and at the door are: $14 for Youth ages 12 and under; $20 for Adults; (tax included.) The Howards Grove Box office will open at 6pm (one hour before showtime.) For handicap accommodations, please call the Plymouth Arts Center office. A free afternoon outreach program, “Realize Your Dream,” for children ages 7-14 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm will also be presented at the Howards Grove Center for the Arts. Pre-registration is required.

This 51st season of Kids From Wisconsin will feature music and artists that have stood the test of time. The curtain opens in early June and closes in August with over 60 performances of “The Beat Goes On.” Living legends such as Billy Joel, Tina Turner and Cher, just to name a few, along with music that is both traditional, award winning and memorable. Music from some super all-stars such as Queen and Gershwin will keep you wanting more and more.
