Three athletes from both Manitowoc Lincoln and Roncalli start competition today at the WIAA State Boys Individual Tennis Tournament in Madison. The Ships are represented by singles player Logan Anderson and the doubles team of Aidan Newberg & Jack Rotter, while the Jets have Jacob Linzmeier & the doubles tandem of Alec Schermetzler & Steffen Lipski in the championship field. Opening round matches begin late this morning at Nielsen Stadium.
The State Track & Field championships commence tomorrow in LaCrosse. Manitowoc Lutheran High School has a planned Team Sendoff this afternoon at 1:45 and yesterday, the Lincoln Marching Band led Ships’ State Tournament athletes through-the-halls of Manitowoc Lincoln High School in a first State Tournament March. Lincoln has 8 track competitors in LaCrosse this weekend, as well as those 3-tennis players at Nielsen, mentioned earlier.
