The Roncalli Boys Golf team earns a State bid after winning the WIAA Division-3 Sectional meet at Lawsonia in Green Lake yesterday. The Jets of Coach John Haug tallied a 331 score, 8-shots better than runnerup and additional state qualifier Sheboygan Area Lutheran. Senior Ian Behringer paced Roncalli with a 78, good for 3rd place and 4 shots behind medalist Doyle Kelly of St. Mary’s Springs. Ethan Wheelis & Bryce Pautz also finished in the top-10 with scores of 83 & 84. Howards Grove linksman, Ryan Splittgerber, is an individual qualifier after tying for 4th with a 79. At the Division-2 Golf Sectional hosted by Mosinee, the best area finisher was Dakota Rezachek of Two Rivers. The Raiders sophomore carded an 84, tied for 11th, but did not qualify for Madison. The State Golf Tournament will be held at University Ridge next Monday & Tuesday.
