Earlier this week, Jefferson City Missouri was struck by an overnight tornado, which ended up taking the lives of three people in the process. Manitowoc County Emergency Services Director, Travis Waack said that this is a tragic reminder that it is important to have multiple warning systems in place. “When you’re asleep in the middle of the night, very few people are gonna be woken up by those outdoor tornado sirens,” Waack explained. “That’s when we see the most tornado fatalities, when they strike in the middle of the night.”
SeehaferNews.com asked Waack what some other options are and he told us that while the NOAA Radio is a very viable option, a weather app for your smartphone is a better option, as they are more reliable, and easy to use.
