With Memorial Day just a couple of short days away, many stores are running sales The Better Business Bureau warns consumers that it is very important to take a close look at the advertisements for these sales, as some may be misleading. The BBB has issued 5 tips to help you make smart purchases. Always be sure to read the fine print, as many places will have stipulations on their “incredible sale prices”. While looking at a sign and seeing 75% off is enticing, the question should be asked, “What is that a percentage off from?” Many places jack up the price before hitting it with the discount, making the sale not that great of a deal. A tactic used by car dealerships is that they will have an amazing low price, but that is just for people with great credit. That is case of asking the dealer if you qualify for that offer. You should question if the sale is truly for a limited time, or if that product will be back on sale in a week. And lastly, ask questions when a lifetime warranty is offered. Is that your lifetime, or the lifetime of the product? If you keep these things in mind, you can help ensure that you really do get the best deal possible.
