The Plymouth based Battery B will be welcomed back home several Wisconsin dignitaries today. Battery B, a subsidiary of the 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery, have spent the last 9 months deployed to six nations in the Middle East, including Afghanistan. The unit conducted high-mobility artillery rocket system fire support missions for coalition and partner militaries in the region. Gov. Tony Evers, Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, Maj. Gen. Donald Dunbar, Wisconsin’s adjutant general, and senior Wisconsin National Guard leaders will be on hand at the 128TH Air Refueling Wing in Milwaukee to welcome home those who gave of themselves so we may remain free. Ceremonies will be held today at 12:45 PM, and tomorrow at noon. The 121st left Wisconsin in July 2018 en-route to the Middle East, and the unit arrived back on U.S. soil earlier this month after landing at Fort Bliss, Texas, where it spent two weeks completing post-mobilization requirements.
