Valders has captured a share of the E-W-C Boys baseball championship with an 11-7 win over Brillion. Riley Hammel was the winning pitcher. Trevor Leist & Luke Wendling both had two hits for the Vikings, now 16-4.
Manitowoc Lincoln ran its’ winning streak to 6 games in boys baseball with a 5-0 road decision over Denmark. Winning pitcher Justin Steinbecker work the first four innings and also went 2-4 at bat. Jacob DeBruin had the big hit in the ballgame with a 3 run double Noah Brotski was 3-4 and Will Maples added a pair of hits for the Ships, now 16-8. They’ll close out the conference portion of the schedule this afternoon at Green Bay Southwest.
In the Big East Conference Manitowoc Lutheran continued its’ good play of late with an 11-1 rout of host Sheboygan Area Lutheran in 5-innings. Zack Marten was credited with the win, allowing just 1 hit and an unearned run with a walk and 8-strikeouts. Offensively, The Lancers got 2 hits apiece from Korey Garceau and Josh Diel who also drove in a pair of runs. Kaleb Engelbrecht was 1-3 with 2 RBI and Trey Zastrow reached base 3 times and scored 3 runs.
