Nine Members of the Manitowoc County Miracles Special Olympics Swim Team Advance to State

The Manitowoc County Miracles Special Olympics Swim Team recently competed at their District Meet in Oshkosh. Eighteen swimmers competed in many events including freestyle and medley relays, breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle and butterfly. As a result of the District Meet, nine swimmers will advance to the State Games held at UW Stevens Point June 6-8. The nine state qualifying swimmers are Travis Boettcher, Alyssa Duerst, Mitchell Finnel, Daniel Grunwald, Lucy Grunwald, Jared Henry, Jade Nate, Samantha Schmidt and Heidi Van Abel. The team is coached by Mike and Carol Grunwald.
