Manitowoc Man Arrested on Charges of Strangulation and Suffocation

A 33-year-old Manitowoc man was taken into police custody on Sunday after he allegedly struck and strangled his girlfriend. Officers were sent to the Kwik Trip on Menasha Avenue after an employee called them on behalf of a distraught woman. The woman told officers that she and her boyfriend had been drinking, and got into an argument. He proceeded to push her onto the bed and repeatedly hit her.  The woman also claimed that he choked her during the scuffle and she was eventually able to escape the man’s clutches and make her way to the Kwik Trip to call the police. The man was arrested without incident on charges of Strangulation and Suffocation, Battery, and Disorderly Conduct, all with a Domestic Violence Order.
