Manitowoc County Treasurer Nancy Saueressig has announced her retirement, today was her last day at the courthouse. County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer praised her performance saying, “Nancy came up through the ranks and she did a fine job. A treasurer’s job is a lot of detail and she did details stupendously. We’ll miss her.”
Amy Kocian has been appointed by the County Board to serve-out Saueressig’s term which runs until next year. Ziegelbauer said, “She’s a very experienced accountant she served in the private sector for 20 plus years as an accountant. She’s a deputy now and she will step in next week.”
The county executive added, “we’ve had a long line of good treasurers, starting with Ed Brey and we value them very much.”
