For the third year in a row, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement was awarded a grant from the National Security Agency (NSA) for its GenCyber program, the only of its kind in Wisconsin. The Division was awarded $57,000 for a GenCyber teacher camp, which will be held August 5-9. The vision of the GenCyber program is to be part of the solution to the nation’s shortfall of skilled cybersecurity professionals. Ensuring that enough young people are inspired to direct their talents in this area is critical to national and economic security especially as the country becomes more reliant on cyber-based technology in every aspect of their daily lives. The GenCyber teacher camp targets teachers who are passionate about providing students with the tools they need to be safe and responsible online.
