Manitowoc native Eric Fogltanz and his Iowa State Men’s Track and Field teammates brought home the Hy-Vee Cup at the Drake Relays in Des Moines over the weekend, Fogltanz, a senior from Lincoln High School, helped the Cyclones make it a sweep in the Men’s and Women’s division with 29 team points. Eric captured the 400-meter hurdles crown Friday with a time of 50.98 seconds and was part of the Sprint Medley Relay, who finished 4th, and the 4 by 400 relay Invite, who finished 5th. Fogltanz and Iowa State now prepare for the Big 12 Outdoor Championships in Norman Oklahoma May 10th through the 12th.
Last week Eric was also presented with the Male Senior College Athlete Award as given by the Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame. The Female recipient was Meg Wolowicz, who also graduated from Lincoln High.
