
Republicans have accused Wisconsin’s Democratic governor of trying to undermine the multi-billion dollar Foxconn deal. Governor Tony Evers says it wasn’t his idea, pointing out the Taiwan-based electronics giant approached Wisconsin about renegotiating its contract. Under the current agreement, Foxconn could qualify for more than four-billion dollars in state and local tax credits. Evers has said recently he doesn’t believe the company will wind up hiring the 13-thousand workers it had promised.
