The Valders baseball and softball teams both walked out of their games yesterday with victories. The boys defeated Freedom 8-1, due in part to the arm of Riley Hummel. Hummel threw a complete game, allowing just four hits in the outing. Trevor Leist lead the way offensively for the Vikings, going 4-4 and driving in 2 runs.
The girls continued their offensive dominance, crushing Oostburg 13-3. Every single batter for the Vikings picked up at least one hit, with Kendra Hammel, Maddie Sabel, and Hannah Evenson each getting 2 hits. Jenna Evenson pitched very well for the Vikings, going the distance, allowing only 3 hits, striking out 8 batters and walking only one. Valders now boasts a record of 6-2 overall, and 3-0 in the EWC.
