A status conference for 83-year-old murder suspect Richard G. Pierce will be held in Door County May 31st. Pierce entered a not guilty plea to charges of first-degree intentional homicide and disinterment of the dead during a Friday court appearance. He was arrested last October for his wife’s death in 1975. Pierce had moved to Michigan after Carol Jean Pierce was killed. The Wisconsin Cold Case Review Team determined there was enough evidence to take the case to trial last September.
