Lafayette County Couple Accused Of Severely Neglecting 2 Children

Two parents from Belmont each face four felony charges of child abuse, neglect and intentionally causing harm.  Lafayette County authorities say Jamie Lee Weigel and Dalton Hopper severely neglected their children.  Authorities got involved when they brought their four-month-old daughter into Upland Hills Health Center in Dodgeville.  That child was diagnosed with “non-organic failure to thrive and medical neglect.”  Weigel told investigators she and Hopper often failed to feed the two children in the evening.
