The invasive fish coordinator for the Minnesota D-N-R says the capture of a silver carp on the St. Croix River is not surprising. Nick Frohnauer confirms a commercial fisherman reported the catch in an area near Prescott, Wisconsin. D-N-R officials in Minnesota and Wisconsin are concerned about the impact invasive carp could have on waterways in the region. They say the landing of one fish doesn’t mean an established population of the invasive carp is present in the St. Croix. Two silver carp were captured at the same location two years ago.
