Doctors at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford have released a five-year-old boy after treating him for an accidental gunshot wound. The boy suffered a wounded hand when the small-caliber handgun went off. The incident happened late Tuesday night in Beloit. Investigators are trying to determine how he got his hands on the gun. Child protective services are involved in the case. No names have been released and no charges have been filed, so far.
