Additional Information Released on Fatal Collision In Manitowoc County

Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig has released more information regarding a fatal crash that occurred yesterday afternoon in Manitowoc County. On Monday at approximately 3:39 PM deputies and EMS personnel responded to a vehicle vs. bicyclist crash on County Road XX between Herr Rd and Pioneer Rd in the Township of Meeme. The preliminary investigation indicates 27-year-old Brittni Joy Diedrich from Manitowoc was operating a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva eastbound on County Road XX. Her vehicle collided with an eastbound bicyclist identified as 68-year-old Robert Keith Hughes from rural Kiel. Mr. Hughes was transported by ThedaStar to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah where he later died. The crash remains under investigation by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, Manitowoc County Coroner’s Office, and Wisconsin State Patrol. Valders Ambulance, Valders Fire Department, Cleveland First Responders and Cleveland Fire Department assisted at the scene.
